Kodak Prepare links the creative and production processes,
enabling the quick and easy creation of trustworthy PDF files.
This program provides designers with the tools to easily create
PDF files that match the precise production specifications
of their print vendor.
The Kodak Prepare workflow
Creative professionals set up Kodak Prepare by importing a
directive received from a print vendor, a set of predefined
PDF output parameters that represent the creation preferences
of a particular production environment. Printers and publishers
create and distribute these locked directives to designers.
In doing so, they are assured that a Kodak Prepare PDF will
be production-ready. Creative designers save time and effort,
with this easy, reliable PDF creation tool.
Kodak Prepare provides multiple PDF creation options. Users
have the option of: printing directly from QuarkXPress with
Kodak Prepare XT; printing directly from Adobe InDesign using
the Kodak Prepare InDesign plug-in; printing to the Kodak
Prepare desktop printer from any Macintosh application; or
simply dragging and dropping PostScript or PDF files into
a hot folder or Kodak Prepare applet.
Two editions to suit different needs
Kodak Prepare is available in two editions that suit the needs
of different users.
Kodak Prepare is for users who are generating files intended
for print production. Kodak Prepare Pro is for printers, trade
shops and publishers looking to define a standard PDF specification
for print production. Kodak Prepare Pro is the same as the
standard Kodak Prepare edition, but with additional functionality,
such as the ability to create, edit, and distribute directives
and verify files. It also allows users to use branding options
to customize a Kodak Prepare user experience.
